Banned Books Week: Theatrical Presentation and Exploration

Banned Books Week: Theatrical Presentation and Exploration

The theatre program is creating an original play about banned books and is looking for community voices. On October 5th, the theatre program will present a piece in the works which will actively seek audience input and perspective. Using a technique from Augusto Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed theories, Forum Theatre demonstrates a typical scenario experienced around a theme (in this case, banned books and censorship), and asks audience members to speak back to the actors about what could have happened or should have happened. Actor replay with audience input. Come have your voice heard and see how it plays out!
