Inclusive Reading Club: Stories from the life of a migrant child Online

Join us for a bilingual discussion based on selections from The Circuit: Stories from the life of a migrant child (Cajas de cartón: relatos de la vida peregrina de un niño campesino) by Francisco Jiménez. University Chaplain Fr. Scott Pontes and MaryAnne Davey, Director of the Mercy Center for Spiritual Life, will be joining us to facilitate the discussion. The readings, available in English and Spanish, are posted on the library’s website under Course Reserves. These are the stories of the author's migrant family in the 1940s, campesinos whose lives were defined by poverty and impermanence, but also faith and hope, as they worked picking crops in California, moving from one labor camp to another.

Find much more information about the Inclusive Reading Club on the padlet (online bulletin board).
